Design Update #3!
– Sun, Mar 11, 2018 at 05:34:21 PM
HELLO BACKERS!
Hope everyone is having a great week! We're continuing our series of updates regarding the Design Process of the Elliot Havok World Traveller.
Today, we want to discuss one of small details that we really put a lot of thought into. Like you guys, we love watches and we love the tiny little things that come together to give a timepiece character.
STRAPS
Many backers have asked about our choice in straps and why we chose leather again. For this design, we really wanted to use the highest quality Italian calf leather in some colors that would really accentuate the design of the case and dial. Plus the leather is oh so soft, you have to feel it to believe it.
As you can see, the straps in their specific colors add a balance to the color of the dial, and case. For the Midnight Navy, we continued the theme of having a Blue Dial for a piece that would really pop. For the White Cloud Traveller, we decided to have brown strap to add some color for a more adventurous piece. We know metal mesh straps have been requested and we might design a specific minimalist line for such a strap in the future. *hint
They will also be quick release and will fit with the 20mm straps on our website. They will be available for add-on during the survey phase.
As always, feel free to message us if you have any questions or suggestions. We love to hear from you guys so let us know!

Hello Backers!
Hope everyone is doing well today! We're officially at the halfway mark of our campaign and we could not be more excited to get these watches into production.
STRETCH GOALS!
We've gotten a few inquiries regarding a stertch goal and we wanted to update you all on where we are at with that.
Currently, we're calculating the costs to be able to offer an additional colorway. This is the most demanded stretch goal so far, and we're going to determine the specific colorway from our backers' preferences via a poll.
That being said, we're working with our manufacturer to meet the MOQ for a new style. In addition, we'd need to cover costs such as creating a new mold for the case and dial, sourcing additional straps, and fulfillment integrations for a new SKU. We should have a finalized estimate in the coming weeks.
Our estimates so far suggest that the stretch goal is around $220,000. This translates to a production run of about 1200 units of the World Traveller. If our funding trend continues as is, we should be reaching our stretch goal by the end of the campaign in 30 days!
We'll keep you guys updated as we progress with those decisions with our manufacturing partner. Keep an eye out for the poll for a new colorway if we finalize a stretch goal!
As always, feel free to message us if you have any questions or suggestions. We love to hear from you guys so let us know!

COLOR OPTIONS
We've gotten a few inquiries on whether or not we will be adding another color option to the collection. It's only been 10 days into the campaign so it's tough to confirm if we will be adding another color option.
LET US KNOW!
That being said, we'd still love your feedback and input on which color option you'd like to see most if we were to add another color option. Feel free to let us know in the comments section. If there's something that sticks out, we'll have an official poll in a future update so we can all vote on it.
We're still talking with our manufacturers to see it will be possible with the current volume of watches we are manufacturing. We'd have more flexibility to add to a larger collection once we're further into the campaign with a more accurate gauge on funding.
Here at Elliot Havok, it's a two-way street and an open discussion. We listen to your feedback and suggestions so we can continue making awesome collections. Have an awesome rest of the week and remember to share the love!

Design Process of World Traveller

Hello Backer!
Hope you've all been well and enjoyed your weekends. Like our previous campaign, we are doing a series of updates over the next couple weeks explaining the design, goals, and issues we’ve faced in creating the World Traveller.
We got some questions over the past week and thought it would be a good idea to elaborate on the answers. We want to explain some of the design process for this watch.
CONCEPTION
The inspiration for this watch started with our love for luxury timepieces. We noticed that there wasn't any world timer watches that really fit our standards in terms of pricing or design. Many of these world timers exceed several thousand dollars or were some digital version of a world timer. We decided to tackle the problem of creating an analog world timer watch.
DESIGN
We wanted to design something that looked and felt as luxurious as the other world timers on the market. We included subtle details like fluted oyster bezel and crown guards. But the main issue we tackled was that there was no other watch created like this. With the help of the engineers from our manufacturing partners we were able to co-design a one of a kind watch. Using a clever dual-layer rotating disc system, we are able to reverse engineer the first quartz hybrid world timer using a Swiss GMT movement.
Once we were able to get the functionality of the watch down, we were able to work on the design aesthetics of the watch. But we'll get into that next update! :)
Feedback/Suggestions
Thank you all so much for providing your input and suggestions for stretch goals. We were able to get a better idea of what some possible stretch goals could be. It's too early to tell if we're able to finalize one yet, but we have a good idea of some options if we're able to do so,

How To Change Cities - World Traveller
– Tue, Feb 13, 2018 at 06:41:07 PM
HELLO BACKERS!
What an amazing week it has been. We have a couple things to cover in this update...
YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME
Thank you all again for coming out (figuratively speaking) and supporting our new project. We were funded in one hour and have been blown away by your support. For those that have come back from our previous watch collections, THANK YOU. We always listen to your feedback and are always looking to improve our product. Don't be afraid to let us know what you think or would like to see! We love feedback.
Changing Cities?!
We've gotten quite a few inquiries about how to change the cities on the watch or if they are fixed. The cities can spin around to set whatever target city you'd like at ANY position. No, the entire bezel does not spin. But as you can see from the diagram below, there is a secondary crown with crown protectors on each side, to protect it from changing accidentally. You spin that second crown to rotate the cities!
Then you change the inner 24 hour dial to match the cities! We will release a video demo of this in a couple weeks to show you guys how easy it is.
That's about it today and we hope you all have an excellent weekend. Here's a photo of a cute kitten.
